Natural Glow from Shu Uemura

During the pandemic, with frequent online meetings and the need to look fresh, having a good base makeup is essential. As someone who is picky about foundation, I look for one that provides excellent hydration, blends smoothly, and has a lightweight texture that allows my skin to breathe.

With the advancement of beauty technology, shu uemura has further refined its foundation development.

“Unlimited Glow” is a water-based foundation known for its ultra-smooth, skin-like texture, free from fragrance and any sticky feeling. They’re tailored for Asian skin tones and textures, with a wide range of 25 shades to choose from. The ones starting with 5 give a more natural look. After some consultation, I picked shades 594, 584, and 574 that suited me best.

Start with this Shu Uemura sunscreen and primer in one —
the go-to pre-makeup essential for deep hydration, a smooth base, and invisible sun protection.

A hydrating primer that deeply moisturizes the skin, shields it from UV damage, and keeps makeup fresh and flawless—no caking or patchiness, even after hours of wear.

The makeup artist tested it on me in shade 594. This tone delivers a naturally fair finish, enhancing the skin’s radiance without looking overly pink or artificial.

The texture feels so weightless—soft and watery, gliding effortlessly across the skin. Using the special sponge, I gently tapped it around my cheeks, eye corners, and lips, and in seconds it blended seamlessly into my complexion. Even without the sponge, you can smooth it out easily with your fingertips, but with Shu Uemura’s specially designed applicator, the foundation instantly transforms into a light, fluid veil for a flawless finish.

The texture feels like a creamy milk-tea shade—almost like melted ice cream. Just three tiny drops on the hand melt effortlessly into the skin, leaving no heaviness at all.

With just a gentle touch of my fingertips, it melts right in—absorbed instantly like skincare, yet it’s a foundation too. The finish? A soft, luminous glow, like light shining through a delicate mist.

After 2–3 hours of wear, the foundation settled even more naturally into my skin tone. Personally, I love a fairer complexion, so I usually go for a shade one step lighter than my own. The result? Oil control is on point, the finish stays fresh, and there’s absolutely no dullness—flawlessly done!
