Just a simple word: Thank you

I’ve always loved the timeless elegance of Gothic script. This Thanksgiving, I felt inspired to take a marker and simply write the words “Thank You.”
So simple, yet so magical—just the act of writing it filled me with a quiet sense of peace.

After that, I picked up my colored pencils and began sketching today’s little meals.

This morning, I had a tooth pulled, so once the anesthesia wore off I craved something soft. For lunch, I baked some sweet potatoes and made a small batch of French fries. But by the afternoon, hunger struck again—so I kneaded some dough and cooked a batch of soft, chewy Italian gnocchi, lightly sprinkled with rosemary for dinner. Using the leftover ingredients, I also simmered a small pot of tomato-based beef bone and potato stew.

And so, with a grateful heart, I welcomed Thanksgiving evening.
In truth, every day can be Thanksgiving—because the simpler it is, the happier it feels.
